February 24, 2021
On Monday, February 8th, Bruin senior Kevin May signed to play collegiate football at Jackson State University.
May has played football for the Bruins since seventh grade, beginning his career as a St. Richard’s Cardinal. He shines as a running back and will continue his career under head coach Deion Sanders, a retired two-time NFL Super Bowl champion. May is the only senior football player to take his sport to the next step.
“It hasn’t hit me yet that I’ll be playing for him [Sanders],” said May.
May was a huge part of the Bruin offense and defense in the 2020 season. In two games, he rushed for 362 yards, totaling five touchdowns.
Kevin May also stood out as a defender, leading in interceptions with four.
“This has been a lifelong dream of mine. I couldn’t have done it without the support of the St. Joe community. I’m looking forward to playing football for Jackson State. Go Tigers,” said May.
