Midweek Paws October 12, 2022
Hello St. Joe. This is the Bruin News Now Midweek Paws for Wednesday, October 12, 2022.
This is a short week after the Monday holiday, so we don’t have a lot happening on the St. Joe campus, but what is going on is very important.
For starters, today is P-SAT day. Juniors will take the preliminary SAT today, or the P-SAT. The national standardized test also is known as the National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test, or the NMSQT. If students score big on this test, it could open the door to scholarship money for college. Good luck to all students talking the test.
On Thursday, Living out Loud faith group will meet in room 506 at 7:00 A.M. This week’s session is for seventh and eighth graders. Thursday is also mass day. We will meet for mass at 9:15 A.M. in the Fine Arts Theater. Wear your regular uniform Thursday – dress uniform is not required.
Also on Thursday, seniors should file their senior class graduation announcement orders during third lunch at 1:15 P.M. in the cafeteria.
Friday is the senior day of service. Seniors will head to the Carmelite monastery in south Jackson to help the Carmelite nuns in a full day of gospel service. Then Friday night, the Bruin varsity football team will hit the road for Meridian and a game at Lamar School. Kickoff at Lamar is 7 P.M. A win here will put the Bruins in the MAIS playoffs and a first-round game on the st. Joe campus Friday, Oct. 28.
Coming up this weekend, the Bruin cross country team returns to action in the Watson high school classic at Choctaw Trails. The girls run at 9 A.M. followed by the boys at 9:30 A.M.
