Midweek Paws October 19, 2022

Hello, St. Joe. This is the Bruin News Now Midweek Paws.

It’s early release Wednesday. School lets out at 1:45 P.M.  today. Juniors and seniors who have third lunch today can leave at 1:15 P.M., but remember – you cannot leave campus and then return.

It’s been a pretty calm week on the St. Joe campus.

On Monday, volleyball lost at Mississippi College, ending their season.

Besides being early release Wednesday, today also is the senior class retreat at Camp Garaywa. Seniors began their retreat with 8 A.M. mass in the Fine Arts Auditorium.

On Thursday, weekly mass is set for 9:15 A.M. in the Fine Arts Auditorium as usual. This is a regular uniform mass – no dress uniforms are required on Thursday.

Friday is a busy one. Vowell photography will be on campus at about 8 A.M. to take make-up school photos. If you are a student, faculty member or staff member who has not taken their official school portrait, today is you last opportunity.

Also today is the Senior Night Pep Rally and Senior Night at Bill Raphael Field. If you remember, this was supposed to be our final home football game of the 2022 season, as well as senior night honoring senior athletes. But Park Place canceled their season, leaving us with no opponent and no game.

To make up for that, a pep rally is set for 2 P.M. Friday in the Fine Arts Auditorium and will include a video created by some senior parents. Then, that night at 6 P.M., St. Joe will salute seniors in fall sports with a senior salute-final halftime performance for the school year. The entire program should last about a half hour.

Finally, capping the night will be the middle school dance in the St. Joe gym from 9 to 11 P.M.
