Midweek Paws November 10, 2022
Hello everybody. This is the Bruin News Now Midweek Paws.
It’s been a busy first part of the week. On Monday, middle school basketball traveled to Christ Covenant for an early season matchup. Then Tuesday night the bruin boys and girls basketball traveled to Hartfield Academy for a game. Both teams fell Tuesday to Hartfield.
Today saw the junior class head off campus for the junior service day, in which they spent time helping various charitable causes. The bruin booster club meets tonight at 6 p-m in the library.
Thursday is shaping up to be a crazy day. The bruin choir is expected to take part in the MAIS Choral Festival at Belhaven University. Mass is set for 9:15 A.M. in the Fine Arts building and Monsignor Elvin Sunds will preside. Then a large delegation of St. Joe students will leave school and head to downtown Jackson through Saturday for the 2022 edition of Mississippi youth legislature.
Capping Thursday night is bruin basketball, with the boys and girls teams hosting Leake Academy. JV girls play at 4:00 P.M., JV boys at 5:00, varsity girls at 6:00, and varsity boys at 7:15 P.M. If you can’t make the two varsity games, follow all the action live on Bruin Sports Radio heard exclusively on WJXCLP Jackson, Mississippi Catholic Radio, 107.9. You also can watch a live video stream of the games with audio from Bruin Sports Radio. Watch it right here on the Bruin News Now channel on YouTube.
Friday night is another huge event – opening night for the fall play, “A Christmas Story.” Curtain is 7:00 P.M. with additional performances at 7:00 P.M. Saturday and 2 P.M. Sunday. Admission is $12 with St. Joe students and teachers free. Students and teachers from St. Anthony, St. Richard and Sister Thea Bowman schools are admitted free. Students should wear their school shirt. And teachers will need a valid school ID.
On Saturday morning, it’s Saturday detention for some of you. Youth legislature concludes, and basketball plays at the Kosciusko Shootout.
